Our Story

Aspen Kay Naturals began in 2012 in a small kitchen with an even smaller home office.

At the time, soap was never meant to become a business. It started simply out of necessity. I began making soap for family and friends who struggled with dry, sensitive skin and were frustrated with the harsh detergents and unnecessary additives found in most commercial “soaps” on the market.

I wanted something different—something truly nourishing for the skin, made with high-quality ingredients you could trust.

But the moment Aspen Kay Naturals truly came to life happened about a year later.

One hot summer evening, I had just finished formulating a new soap recipe designed specifically for dry, sensitive skin. My husband grabbed a freshly cured bar and headed off to the shower while I stayed in the kitchen making dinner.

A few minutes later, I suddenly heard wet feet running down the hallway.

Standing there in the kitchen doorway was my completely soaking-wet, very naked husband holding that bar of soap with the biggest smile on his face.

Naturally, my first question was why he was standing there for the neighbors to see.

His response?
“Never mind the neighbors. This is the best bar of soap I’ve ever used.”

He went on and on about how incredible his skin felt, how perfect the lather was, and how different it was from anything he had used before.

That unexpected moment—standing in the kitchen with my very enthusiastic (and very naked) husband—became the turning point.

It was then that I realized if this soap worked this well for us, there were probably many others with dry, sensitive skin searching for something better too.

And so Aspen Kay Naturals was born.

Today, we no longer make soap in our kitchen or home. But the same care, craftsmanship, and love still goes into every single bar we produce.

At Aspen Kay Naturals, our soaps are handcrafted the traditional way using the cold process method, a time-honored technique that preserves the integrity and benefits of natural ingredients.

Every bar is made by hand from start to finish — from mixing and pouring, to cutting and packaging.

Proudly handmade in the USA, our soaps are crafted with thoughtfully selected ingredients including:

Our soaps are naturally colored using plants, herbs, clays, and mineral pigments, never synthetic dyes.
